Apple has just introduced a new computer operating system called Mac OS x 10.8 Mountain Lion. This mountain lion operating system is the next generation OS before OS X 10.7 Lion.
Obviously there are a variety of new features that Apple worked on Lion Mountain. Here are a few things worth knowing about Apple’s latest OS, quoted from various sources:
1. Mountain Lion was released mid-2012
Mountain Lion is currently only limited release to developers. While the time for the consumer launch scheduled in mid-2012. Just like the previous OS, Mountain Lion will be available for download via the Mac App Store.
2. Mountain Lion integrated with iCloud

Mountain Lion was the first Apple OS integrated iCloud. Mountain Lion can use your Apple ID user to automatically set up contacs, Mail, Calendar, Messages, Facetime and Find My Mac. If the user did save the document in iCloud, revisions made in a single device is directly available in other Apple devices.
3. Mountain Lion use messaging services ‘Messages’

Messages or other Apple device called iMessages will replace iChat in Mac. So Mac users can communicate with each other with an iPhone or iPad users. Exchange messages via Messages can be done unlimited, including images, HD video and up to 100MB attachment.
4. Mountain Lion integrated with iOS

Mountain Lion has pretty much the same features as the iOS operating system. As Reminders, Messages, Notes and Game Center. Reminders and Notes feature allows users to write a list or schedule tasks across the Apple device, as all are sync with iCloud. While Game Center is a social gaming platform so Mac users can play games with iPad or iPhone users.
5. Mountain Lion has a Notification Center

Notification Center in Mountain Lion is similar to that found in iOS. This feature reminds the user if there is something new from the features of Mail, Calendar, Messages, Reminders, update the system or applications of third parties.
6. Mountain Lion has features Share Sheets

One new feature in the Mountain Lion is the Share Sheets. This feature is intended to facilitate the sharing of links, images and video directly from Apple and third party applications. Apple to work with Flickr to share images and Vimeo for video.
7. Mountain Lion Airplay equipped with Mirroring

Airplay Mirroring enables users to mirror or Mac computer screen to the big screen TV wirelessly. Condition, the TV must have the Apple TV. This feature is support 720p high definition display.
8. Mountain Lion is lined with a Gatekeeper

Gatekeeper is a new security software for the Mountain Lion. Here, users can personalize your Mac computer security settings. Users can also set it so that Mac computers only accept software that is downloaded from a Mac App Store.
